Experience of some of those who have used Turmeric Extract

(Source of turmeric extract not necessarily from us in all the cases. For all practical purposes Turmeric has to be considered as a dietary supplement not meant to treat or prevent any disease)

"My experience is that during chemo taking turmeric as a supplement is OK. My mum underwent chemo 2 years ago and a part of a fully vegan diet + no sugar whatsoever and very little alcohol, took turmeric supplementation (1000mg three times a day) and she had a very succesful treatment. In fact since switching to vegan her health is much better than way before, the test come everytime looking really good and improvements are obvious. I personally would take turmeric while on treatment."

"My dog was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last July and was told to put her to sleep, the mass could be felt by the veterinarian from the outside of her body.  I researched Tumeric on line and started giving her the actual Tumeric powder as well as Cumin in brown rice and fed that to her every day and 6 months later when she went to be examined again, He could not find anything wrong with her.  She has been completely fine ever since and I still continue to put the tumeric and cumin in all her food and in everything I cook for myself as well."

"My experience is with suspicious moles. I have several dozen conerning moles. I've had a dozen or so removed over the past several years. On recent occasion  The dermatologist took two of them off. The staff called me the next day to talk to me about my insurance for when I came in to have "melanoma on my arm" removed. I expressed suprise they were calling it a melanoma and asked if the results were back already. They weren't. The doctor just said it was melanoma - malignant tumor of melanocytes and so that's what was on my chart. I started taking  1 1/2 tsp of turmeric with every meal after reading several promising studies on the use of turmeric with melanoma. After 2 weeks, moles started falling/rubbing off. It's been 8 weeks now, and I have lost 4 moles. So my take is that yes, turmeric works on skin lesions. "

"I'm currently recieving chemo for recurrent gastric cancer and during treatment was able to meet with a naturopathic oncologist that works in conjunction with my medical oncologist (I was pleased and amazed that an oncologist would endorse seeing a naturopath for complementary treatment.) I've started taking turmeric 2x daily and have no data as yet to support its effectiveness but do physically feel stronger and more energetic during chemo."

"I started on turmeric and apricot kernels some years back after a friend of mine was told she had cancer and given a maximum of 3 months to live. She scoured the internet for info on alternative methods to battle the disease and came up with turmeric and bitter apricot kernels. The interesting thing is, two years later it was emphysema that killed her and not cancer. That was enough to convince me to get started taking the stuff".

"I have been taking turmeric and my doctor was shocked by how well I responded to chemo. I also take quercetin and bromelain plus some other things."

" I was also diagnosed with lymphoma (follicular) 3 years ago, although I had a lump in my neck for a year prior to diagnosis, so actually it's been four years living with lymphoma. I recently had noticed an enlarged lymph node in the inguinal area, and my CT scan and PET scan show "some progression of the disease". Recently I started cooking with turmeric and like magic the enlarged lymph node has shrunk considerably. It looks like there's a benefit to ingesting turmeric."

"My wife age 36 diagnosed in 5/07 w/ fNHL,  from advise and over 50 books read front to back suggest tumeric (that contains curcumin) she and I take 900 mg tablets @ every meal and eat ALOT of greens (i.e. kale, collard mustard, etc.) prepared with olive oil and 1-1/12 tbs of tumeric/curcumin almost daily. Along with only WHOLE FOODS nothing processed. This has lead to shrinkage of all tumor sites."

"About 2 months go I couldn'tkeep food down an had lost 12 kgs in less than a month. I thought and hoped it was an hernia. But when it all turned into projectile vomiting as soon as I tried to swallow I decided it was time to see the doctor . That same day while waiting I read an article in the Irish Time about a study done in Cork regarding oesophagical cancer and the effects of Turmeric (one of the component of Indian Curry). Lab tests showed that it killed the cancerous cells on contact. Waiting for the different tests (Gastrocopy, Biopsy, Scan, Pet, Luminiscence etcc...) I started to take 2 tea spoons o Turmeric, mixed with 1 table spoon of Manuka Honey in 2 to 3 table spoon of natural yogourt 3 times a day. Even before the results of test were back I was able to start eating, keeping the food down again and stop the weight loss. Since then I have had 2 sessions of chemotherapy but every evening before going to bed I still  take my concoction."

Lst October I was diagnosed with stage 4 EC wich had spread to the lymoh nods. The radiation oncologist told me that he couldn't not do anything for me as the tumour was too big and the cancer had spread too much. When pressed he said I could try chemo but only gave me a 10 to 15% chance to see the new year. Having read about a research done by Pr O;Sullivan in Cork I started taking Turmeric and after 3 days was able to swallow again. Now after 3X21 days cycles of chemo the tumour had shrunk and I had surgery in March to remove my gullet and the lymphatic nodes. Months down I just got the result of both PET and CT scan: ALL CLEAR. So don't despair do not give in or give up. Get as much help and support, miracles do happen.

My husband  had very good results with using curcumin..the active ingredient in turmeric. He is also in chemotherapy with oxaliplatin and his 10 centimeter esophageal tumor has shrunk 50% since diagnosed  last February (2010).
